Our primary focus is the environment, and within that broad category we have emphasized the field of higher education during the first 12 years of the Foundation’s history. Our goal has been to encourage colleges and universities throughout the United States to initiate or strengthen programs that relate to the environment.

The Foundation is also active in the area of conservation and human health, where we recognize the challenges inherent in increasing contact between and among wildlife, domesticated animals and human beings.

We have also tried to address environmental issues through innovative research and new approaches to the development of public policy.
