Political Economy Research Institute (PERI)

The Political Economy Research Institute (PERI) at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, conducts research, graduate education, and outreach in the area of policy-relevant political economy. The Institute is committed to conducting and disseminating research to inform policy makers and grassroots activists trying to improve living standards for people and to create a more just, democratic, and ecologically sustainable world.

The Foundation provides funding for the Corporate Toxics Information Project, which is developing and disseminating information and analysis about corporate releases of toxic chemicals and communities' exposures to air and water pollution hazards. By enhancing public understanding of the toxics in the environment, the project aims to help translate the right to know into the right to clean air and water.
