Founded in 1999, the Center for Energy & Climate Solutions is the first "one-stop shop" dedicated to helping businesses and other organizations use energy-efficient and clean technology specifically to boost profits and productivity while reducing emissions of greenhouse gases and other pollutants—enhancing a "triple bottom line" that reflects economic, social and environmental costs and benefits. The Center's mission is to both cultivate and propagate real-world success stories like the ones documented in founder Dr. Joseph Romm's book, Cool Companies, fostering practical solutions directly while also improving the broader debate over climate action and energy technologies.

Funding from the V. Kann Rasmussen Foundation has enabled the center to help businesses, government and environmental organizations develop technological, strategic, financial and regulatory tools to foster the adoption of clean solutions.

The Center's ultimate aim is to move the minds that move the economy—whether in the boardroom or the committee room—by providing a better understanding of the solutions to our most pressing environmental issues. The projects supported by the V. Kann Rasmussen Foundation foster practical solutions directly, while also improving the broader debate over climate action and energy technologies.
