Clean Air-Cool Planet

Established in 1999, Clean Air-Cool Planet (CA-CP) works with corporations, communities and campuses throughout the Northeast to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from their operations and raise awareness about climate change. A grant from the V. Kann Rasmussen Foundation provided seed money to support both programmatic and institutional development of the organization. Specifically, the funds were used to establish the new organization, recruit institutional partners to the initiative, raise awareness about the climate change through various media outlets and refine key CA-CP program areas. The grant was instrumental in transforming a concept into a real, operational non-profit corporation delivering programs to its targeted constituencies.

The Foundation has also funded a new undertaking to expand Clean Air-Cool Planet's program, making its model approach available in other regions of the country and facilitating increased strategic collaboration among state and regional climate advocacy groups. In addition, the Foundation has funded the expansion of its campus climate-change initiative.
