Silicon Valley Toxics Coalition

Founded in 1982, Silicon Valley Toxics Coalition (SVTC) envisions a sustainable world where a healthy environment is a right, not a privilege. SVTC has worked with hundreds of communities and companies locally and around the world to raise the environmental consciousness and performance of the high-tech sector. Using a variety of tools, SVTC plays a unique role in providing information on the environmental, community and worker-health impacts of the global electronics industry.

A grant from the V. Kann Rasmussen Foundation has provided essential support to launch SVTC's national initiative—the Computer TakeBack Campaign. The campaign, which promotes sustainable production, will help lay a foundation for corporate accountability in the high-tech sector.
